✨ In one of our prison facilities, a few of the inmates mentioned how they have wronged family members and their need to be reconciled with them. The leader of this session took time to stop and focus on how strong the theme of reconciliation is throughout the Bible.

They spoke about how Joseph reconciled with his brothers and how Peter reconciled with Christ after Jesus’ Resurrection. They took the time to read scripture and point out lessons they can learn in order to be strong in their emotions, forgive others and embrace the spirit of forbearance to overlook the offense of others. Most importantly, they highlighted the importance that we can not take responsibility for others, but only for ourselves and the need to always be praying so we do not fall into temptation.

What a powerful message that we can all learn from. A week later at the same prison facility a participant gave thanks for his newfound relationship with God which was such a great encouragement. He said he never had a relationship with God before the program.

This participant stated that, “there is a particular kind of earth worm in the Arctic tundra that takes 15 years to transform into a butterfly which is a fitting image for the long journey towards recovery.” I found that quite beautiful. He went from having no relationship with God to praying daily.

Please give thanks and pray that this participant would continue to grow in their relationship with the Lord.
