Walking with the Wounded
TAKE 2 minutes FOR TRAINING
To the senior sitting alone in their room reminiscing about family and Christmas’s of the past
To the inmate stretched out on their mat holding back tears of frustration knowing that this Christmas will be spent in prison once again.
To the newcomer figuring out how to make the most of the holidays when most of their family and traditions are not here.
To the inner-city people who long for healing and a home but the “system” and luck seem not to be on their side.
To the widow walking into her living room and is confronted once again with the empty reading chair where her beloved once sat.
How do you share with them hope and love?
“In our woundedness we can become the source of life for others.” -Henri Nouwen, “The Wounded Healer”
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” -2 Corinthians 1:3-5
We have been equipped with the WORD of God, our WITNESS of Jesus Christ, and WISDOM through the Holy Spirit.
To those we may impact this Christmas season, how can you overflow with the sufferings and comfort of Christ to share the hope and love of our God?
