Connecting in Unexpected Ways

One of our participants recently shared how her husband, who works long 13-hour days as a truck driver, was struggling with the slang used at the port where he delivers. Unable to attend our Café due to his demanding schedule, he was feeling frustrated and isolated by the unfamiliar language.

Determined to help, we connected him with another trucker from our community who understood the industry jargon. This trucker not only identified the terms but also took the time to help him practice and gain confidence in using them.

This is just one example of how our community extends beyond the Café to support people in meaningful ways.
