From one of our Intercultural Stream volunteers:Being a part of Connecting Streams in a Conversation Café is truly a blessing. I look forward to meeting our dear participants each week and sharing life together.
Tonight, during our pre-session time, we prayed to be led by the Holy Spirit. As our small group began, I sensed that some explanation would be needed as we moved into Scripture. One of the three participants is very literal, and the other two are quite new to us.
At the end of our discussion, one participant asked, “Is it true that there is nothing I can do to be part of God’s Kingdom?”
Wow! The Lord opened that door right in front of me. I was able to explain that the only thing anyone can do is ask Jesus to forgive us for the wrong things we’ve thought and done, and invite Him into our lives.
The volunteer’s response: “Nothing else?”
I pointed back to our Scripture where Jesus said that we cannot do it ourselves, but God can do anything—and He did by sending Jesus to die and rise again so that we can enter the Kingdom. The group nodded in understanding, and I sensed that God had opened hearts that evening. 💞
