There’s Always More

Written by Donna Mitchell for The Life

“Grace and peace [that special sense of spiritual well-being] be multiplied to you in the [true, intimate] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”– 2 PETER 1:2 AMP

I will never forget the first time I experienced deep peace. My stepmother explained why Jesus had to die for my sins. My guilt over all of my mistakes seemed unbearable to me. Then she explained what Isaiah 1:18 proclaimed, that “my sins would be white as snow.” She said Jesus rose from the dead, and we can have a relationship with him. We can know Jesus — personally and intimately. I went to bed that night and began to talk to Jesus. A blanket of peace came upon me so strong that I was afraid my heart would stop beating!

Troubles, fears, and anxiety can rob me of the peace of God. I regain that peace when I bring everything I am going through to the Lord. I treasure him more than any other relationship on earth. There is no other place where I have found grace and peace multiplied to me. I spend time focusing on his goodness and grace and choose to praise him. I also ask others to pray for me when troubles want to overwhelm me.

The indescribable peace of God can be multiplied to us as we grow in our relationship with God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. There is always more to experience in our walk with God.

Spend time with the Lord in prayer and in his Word. May you draw near to the Lord and experience more peace than you imagined.

Father God, I come to you with an open heart, longing to experience more of your grace and peace. Quiet my heart. Teach me to sit at your feet, meditate on your word, pour out my heart to you. May I again experience deep inner peace beyond what I thought was even possible. Help me pray for others so they too will experience Jesus’ peace. In His Name I pray, amen!

Going Deeper — Take time to be with Jesus in prayer and in his Word. There is no shortcut or substitute for receiving such peace.
