From Connecting Streams Langley
AT 7 AM ON CANADA DAY people gathered to pray at the gates of Vancouver, Langley, Hope and Chilliwack — and probably other cities as well.
In a spirit of unity we worshipped the Lord, read his word and prayed in faith for our country and our specific cities. We proclaimed God’s sovereignty, his glory and his goodness publicly and were encouraged by his Spirit.
One leader from Langley reports: “Throughout we greeted the passers-by. For the first time I felt completely unhampered by any sense of self-consciousness, but rather prayed real prayer for each of them. The responses were, of course, varied but we seemed to be sensitized to Canada passing before us. Many waved, many were dark, most looked grave and burdened and some seemed to wave back out of perplexity, but somehow sensing something ‘other’ happening!”
