Road to Joy

Our umbrella ministry of Power to Change challenges us to be willing to follow God “anytime, anywhere, at any cost, to do anything.” That is a commitment to complete surrender and obedience, and it can be a very scary decision. Our minds tend to run to all the “what if’s,” and “how will this impact my life?” It begs the question, is God looking for our unconditional surrender just so that He can throw our lives into complete turmoil, or is He trustworthy to lead us on good paths to abundant life?

Jeremiah clearly tells us that God’s thoughts for us are for peace and not evil; He does not want to harm us but to give us a hopeful future. God has already prepared us for anything He asks us to do, and He has all the necessary provision to bring it to pass. In following His plan, we enter into the true life adventure that we were born for, the very purpose for which we were uniquely made. The question is, will we trust Him? Do we believe that His ideas really are better than our ideas, and that He is able to lead us triumphantly through His plan as we follow along one step, one day at a time? It is in this place of trust and reliance on Him, believing He loves us and is committed to our good, that we can boldly follow Him, actually see Him at work in our lives, and experience true fulfilment and joy.

It is through obedience that we demonstrate our love for God. When we walk in the tracks He lays for us, we encounter Him and He manifests Himself to us. This is the truly great adventure real life in Christ has to offer!

So go ahead, take the leap, surrender, and enter into joy unspeakable!

He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. (John 14:21)
