Updates from the CS Training Event

We had our Spring Training Event on March 14, there were many volunteers in attendance and several that were exploring and getting a feel for what we do at Connecting Streams. It felt like spring had sprung and there was a buzz in the room, I think I may have even seen a sandal or two! Through the morning we were challenged and equipped as each speaker spoke what they felt God had given them. We all went away with fresh wind in our spirits and fresh perspectives and insights on how to minister to the broken, hurt & marginalized in our groups, communities and families.

Carrielynn Lund, challenged us to examine ourselves and discern if we are doing ministry work in our own strength or in the Lord’s strength. The only way we will know the answer is to intentionally and deliberately spend time seeking to hear God’s voice in answer to these questions.

Tara Penner, spoke about spiritual multiplication…investing in others is life giving. We all have a role to play in God’s kingdom. We are called to share the Gospel with others and then encourage them to go and share the Gospel with others…spiritual multiplication.  This blog article expresses it very well: To read the blog article click here

Lois Bachmann, presented on 3 worldviews: Guilt-Innocence, Shame-Honor & Fear-Power.  Lois gave us a couple links to check-out if you were not able to attend the training event: a chart at:  http://globalgospelbook.org/overview & you can watch or listen to 3 podcasts on the 3 worldviews at:  http://www.radical.net/media/series/series_list/?id=10

Snowy Noble, spoke about helping people to make choices. In our relationships with people: 1)discern God’s purposes: we would like people to respond in a way that we are comfortable with; we have our own default of how we deal or respond to people; listen for what the Holy Spirit is saying. 2)God’s providence: follow God’s instructions; be attentive to God’s provision. 3)Dealing with people: develop relationships, let each person’s decision be their own, just as Jesus did.
