W2W Christmas Banquet a Success!

On behalf of our W2W ladies, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful Christmas Banquet we enjoyed on December 5.   This was an opportunity for us widows to put on our pretty festive clothes and get our hair done,  because we were invited to a grand banquet prepared just for us.  We were warmly greeted as we entered and the excitement started to build as our eyes took in the glitter and sparkle of the beautifully decorated tables and room.  You may have seen our smiles light up the room as each lady greeted her friends, shared hugs and basked in the compliments of “wow, you look so pretty”.   And we felt pretty special  too, as we enjoyed a most delicious Christmas meal and were treated to table service of beverage choices and desert delivered by students who were courteous and friendly.   Tables were abuzz as we chatted with each other, relaxed, enjoyed the musical entertainment and listened to the the speaker who shared a message from her heart.

One would think that would be enough, but there were other treats and surprises.   Having our picture taken professionally and receiving the finished product that same evening was truly remarkable.  Many of the ladies are using this very picture to give as a gift to their families for Christmas.   Doesn’t that just warm your heart?   And there was still more…. draws for gift bags that created a flurry of excitement and laughter.   Each lady may no longer be “a couple”, but she is not alone because new  friendships were made and there are people like you who show their care and support through action.    What a wonderful way to demonstrate the love of Jesus!

Thank you to every one who contributed to this evening.  You made a difference in the lives of the 120 widows who attended!

Blessings on You,

W2W Leadership Group

Here are some of the comments we received from ladies who attended:

The W2W Christmas Banquet was the most beautiful banquet I have ever been to!! Thank You, Thank You to all who made it possible! I was especially thinking of all the widows who are alone for their first Christmas….The Spirit of our Lord was there, & I could feel His Peace! The 3 widows that came with me were equally moved by the Love & Care that was shown to us!

The Turkey Dinner plus all the delicious side dishes was exceptional, melt in your mouth food!! Everything was enjoyed by all!! Thanks to  Sherry & her gang! Love her, may The Lord Bless her richly.

Blessings on you & all the others who served us all so well! Thank You for Loving, Caring & Blessing us, May The Lord Bless you
