Spiritual Multiplication

by The Life Team multiply

A little flame can start something big. A flame loses nothing by giving its light to another candle. In the same way, we lose nothing by sharing our faith with others. It is only strengthened.

When the stakes are so high, this call can seem discouraging. In those times we need a reminder of the call and the promise we’ve been given.  In The Message, the end of Matthew 28 is translated this way:

“Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

The command to us is clear: we need to tell people about God. If you’ve been reading this site for a while now, you already know that God does not ask us to do this in our own strength. We have the Holy Spirit to help to guide us.

(If you’re not familiar with the idea of Spirit-Filled living, you can learn about it here.)

So now that you know what to do and you know that you have the strength to do it, how do you get started? There are a couple great challenges called Discover Your Story and Share Your Story that will teach you how to share your faith story in a clear and compelling way. This is the first step of multiplication. We show up, and God does the heavy lifting.

Who needs to hear your story today?
