News from Addiction Recovery Ministry

Last Monday night was an amazing evening at ARM.  I gave a talk on Step 2 “We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.”  I shared a short testimony on how the Prodigal Son story was so significant to me in my recovery.

Then I transitioned to the significance of Holy Week – the trial, crucifixion and resurrection and how we can have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe.  We can have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and know with certainty where we will spend eternity.

Before I started the message I challenged them to quietly pray for themselves that God would speak to them personally.  At the end of the talk I led them through a ‘sinners prayer’.  From the response cards there were eight decisions for Christ and an additional four that stated that for the first time they had assurance where they were going to spend eternity even though they had prayed that prayer before.

Praise the Lord!

Please continue to pray for:

* our leadership team as they take on more and more responsibilities

* wisdom for me as I prioritize how best to use my diminished energy
