Christmas Update

This fall ministry season has been full. We sense a renewed release, freedom and anticipation of what God is doing!  We are speaking and sharing God’s invitation to follow Him into a hurting world and challenging others to be bold Kingdom leaders. At our October training event, we challenged and equipped 60 passionate volunteers and leaders to submit to and to rely on the Holy Spirit, listen well, share the gospel, and invite those within their sphere of influence to respond.

At last week’s day of fasting and prayer the Lord unified our team. He is leading us and there is growing excitement as we step into all He has for us. Bev Baum joined our staff part-time as the Camrose City Team Leader. Her primary focus is in senior’s and widow’s ministry. Each week, new volunteers are connecting with us to begin a new faith adventure.

Recently, at our senior leader’s meeting at Power to Change, our Executive Leadership Team and the P2C board of directors reiterated their support and affirmation—encouraging and challenging us and supporting a mandate to expand nationally.

Will you pray with us—we are asking the LORD for two full-time staff to join us by February, 2014. The day after sharing Connecting Streams’ ministry with the Power to Change Board of Directors, I spoke with Annalie, one of our volunteers: because she said yes to the Lord, she says, “I am more humble, learning to genuinely care and love, my whole vision of an inmate has made a 360 degree turn… forgiveness has more meaning now than ever.” Also, I asked her what she would say to others considering ministry to the marginalized: “just come, it will be beyond your wildest expectations – you cannot imagine how your life will change.”

Consider the evidence of His Kingdom: widows weeping because they desire more of God, a former inmate leads a friend to Christ, young offender’s accepting Jesus, the broken being healed and refined for leadership. He’s transforming Lives! As the Christmas season approaches, may you reflect on God’s greatest gift to mankind—Jesus.

May He revitalize your faith and reaffirm your resolve to faithfully follow Him into a world desprately crying out for a Saviour—Merry Christmas!
