As I recall 2011, my theme verse for the year was Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (NKJV) The Lord gave me this verse countless times throughout the year, and proved it true over and over.
As we stand in Him at the beginning of 2012 with many adventures ahead – remember that He is with you. He is your God. He is mighty and faithful, and will be with you moment by moment.
I just read Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret by Dr. & Mrs. Howard Taylor. In the midst of founding a mission that changed the eternal destiny of untold numbers of people, amidst trials and struggles, Hudson discovered a secret of abiding in Christ for his every need. Hudson Taylor experienced Jesus’ presence, joy, and peace beyond what he thought was possible. May we experience the same as we rest in Him.
May 2012 bring deeper abiding in Jesus – not as we strive to have more faith but, as Hudson Taylor discovered, as we learn to rest in the Faithful One.

Verse of the Month
“‘For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD…” ~ Jeremiah 29:11-14a
Quote of the Month
“The great hope of the Incarnation is that God comes for us. God is present and Christ is aware, and it changes everything. ‘[I]f accepted,’ writes Lewis, ‘[the Incarnation] illuminates and orders all other phenomena, explains both our laughter and our logic, our fear of the dead and our knowledge that it is somehow good to die,…[and] covers what multitudes of separate theories will hardly cover for us if this is rejected.’ The coming of Christ as an infant in Bethlehem puts flesh on humanity’s worth and puts God in humanity’s weakness. To the captive, there is no other freedom.” ~Jill Carattini is managing editor of A Slice of Infinity at Ravi Zacharias International Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia.
The President of Power to Change challenges people to a life of total commitment in this video. TheLife is your challenge. It’s your commitment to grab hold of God’s vision for your life – any time, any where, at any cost, to do any thing. It doesn’t matter how much money you make or how busy you are. TheLife asks a simple question, “What would your life look like if you were completely available to God?” It starts in the heart. It starts with a prayer. Start off 2012 by asking yourself that question.
Let the grace of the Lord be the measure of your sufficiency;
let the peace of the Lord be the measure of your quietness;
let the power of the Lord be the measure of your strength;
let the goodness of the Lord be the measure of your contentment;
let the love of the Lord be the measure of your service;
let the faithfulness of the Lord be the measure of your trust;
let the beauty of the Lord be the measure of your worship;
let the fullness of the Lord be the measure of your joy;
let the sovereignty of the Lord be the measure of your confidence;
let the promises of the Lord be the measure of your expectations;
let the coming of the Lord be the measure of hope.
You are my portion, O Lord. Psalm 119:57 AMP
~ Roy Lessin, DaySpring co-founder and writer, on Roy’s blog “Meet Me in the Meadow”
I had an experience recently that spoke to me about keeping our eyes fixed on Christ…
Last week I emailed my Fort Prison team about heading back out. I asked if they were feeling ready to go back, or if they needed another week.
By early this morning, all of my team had responded with a “Yes,” so I sent them back a note about meeting at our usual time and place. Then I had to run out the door to work.
As I was driving away, some cold thoughts came to my mind about our plans for the evening. There was this niggling feeling of “this isn’t right… something bad could happen….” It was a small but uncomfortable feeling of dread and foreboding. It nibbled at my resolve. However, I pushed it aside, knowing that I have to trust God and be obedient. He wants us there. He loves these girls with an everlasting love.
Bottom line: ALL FIVE WOMEN in my little circle that night joined hands and gave their lives to Christ – either for the first time, or re-dedicating themselves. Tears of joy and healing abounded, pouring from ALL of us!
Rejoicing in the victory and ultimate supremacy of the risen King, His joyful servant, I am SO grateful for this ministry. The things it does for my heart cannot be counted.
