I am ascending to My Father and your Father, My God and your God. (John 20:17b)
Easter Sunday I read this verse and was struck by the fact that Jesus made possible for us an intimate relationship with the Father! Through His death and resurrection, Jesus reunited us with the Father. Post-Easter, this verse takes on new meaning: When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you. (John 14:20)
Profound. Just as Jesus walked intimately with His Father, He invites us to do the same. Follow Me into a world that is hurting and broken. I don’t just send you – I’m with you. I am in you, Jesus says. May the Lord so align our hearts with His heart that we are in tune with His Spirit – so that we may go where He sends, speak the words He gives, and love whom He loves.
I was at a prayer meeting Easter weekend. People were crying as they prayed for the salvation of hurting people and realized anew the depths of our Savior’s love. He is calling His church to arise, follow Him, and take action. He longs for the world to know Him. If we realized the privilege of knowing Him, the longing of His heart, and the power He will give if we say yes, we would stand up and shout – Send me, Lord! Send me!!

Inspirational Video of the Month: “O Church Arise”
Allow this modern-day hymn, “O Church Arise” by Keith and Kristyn Getty, to challenge your faith and inspire you to take action!
Quote of the Month:
“…Jesus formed his disciples as together they embarked on a journey that took them away from their homes, family, and securities…and set out on an adventure that involved liminality, risk, action-reflection learning, communitas, and spiritual discovery. On the way their fears of inadequacy and lack of provision faded, only to be replaced by a courageous faith that went on to change the world forever.”

Faith Adventure: Created for Eternal Companionship, by Debra Karman
Melissa (not her real name) was a self-proclaimed atheist when we first met her. She felt there was no God because if there was, He would have done something about the terrible injustices and pain she had experienced in her life. Melissa came to the group a skeptic; she arrived with fears, anxieties, and shattered dreams. You see, as an atheist you believe there is no God; thus, you have no one to believe in but yourself. But we all know we are incapable of fixing our circumstances in our own strength, because many of us have tried. Melissa was in that place when we first met her. She was dying inside to her emotions, and had no avenue left to turn where she could receive help that actually worked. Read more…

Fueled by the drive to be bigger and better, today’s church has adopted principles and practices created by the corporate world. The result is a toxic mix of the spiritual and the secular, where success is measured in numbers, and pastors are encouraged to become CEO superstars.
