In the Connecting Streams faith journey, we continue to hear from leaders and their women about how contagious it is to witness someone meet Christ for the first time. They truly understand what Paul means as he writes in Philemon about actively sharing your faith. You experience clarity and a deeper understanding of your relationship in Christ.
A church just outside Edmonton is experiencing just that. They have engaged in Compass groups and the leaders have shared a glimpse of their women’s experiences as they journey through the Compass.
You could say these women are pioneers as they seek to change church culture by moving out into the community and meeting women where they are. By engaging with women in their own settings, a bridge is built that allows relationships to be nurtured, authenticity to be shared, and an open dialogue for spiritual conversations.
Women understand that kingdom expansion is not so much about them as it is investing in those who have not yet heard the gospel message. There are women in every community just waiting for someone to show them the way to hope in their lives. We consider it a privilege to partner with these women as they step out, risk and trust God to be faithful to His call on their lives.
The ladies in this church have shared a little of their experience with the Compass in hopes of encouraging others to embrace the faith adventure and meet God in the process of sharing their faith.
Amanda started a group this past spring: She shares, “we love it, there is not too much for each session and it is a great way to share your faith. I can see their hearts changing and it has been really good for us.”
Darlene shared that “the Compass is well designed, has been easy to understand and uplifting, it is one of the best resources I have seen. Our group ranges from twenty to forty and they all like it.”
Josie is the leader of women’s ministries for this church and she shares that “she likes the simple way the Compass flows; its message is accessible and in everyday language.” She says “the themes are appropriate and allow for sharing, getting into scripture and prayer. She finds it moves gracefully from simple to deep concepts and includes opportunities for personal expression.
Josie finds the tool encourages the participants to be stretched, yet it is not overwhelming or intimidating. She loves that there is no need for a spiritual giant to lead and a new believer could easily walk through it a second time with a seeker.
These women have taken the risk to step out and share their faith, mentor others and as a result, they are witnessing God’s Kingdom expand right before their eyes. In September, this church is taking on a Compass ministry and their desire is to reach out to their community and provide a place for seeking women to ask questions, build friendships and find Jesus.
At Connecting Streams, we empower leaders to empower others. Your church, women’s ministry leader, the women leaders in your world could use a connection. Our vision is to continue networking women to reach their world. Connect with us at www.connectingstreams.com or email@example.com.
